Fuel & Charging
What the miles cost
Every tool here comes down to one division: what the energy costs, divided by how far it carries you. Dollars per gallon over miles per gallon. Dollars per kWh over miles per kWh. The arithmetic is not the hard part — getting honest numbers into it is.
So none of these calculators assume your fuel price, your electricity rate, or how far you drive in a year. You read those off a pump, a utility bill, and your own odometer, and they stay inputs you can change. What we print back is the formula, the figure, and exactly what the figure does and doesn't cover.
Price the same miles on gasoline and on electricity, using your fuel price, your utility rate, and each car's rated efficiency.
